Recent Snowfall in Toronto

The front of our house in 19 Dixon. The snow is beautiful only in two days, then
it will turn into grimy slush or rock hard ice which does not look soft and white anymore

This is the fort. A new snowfall covered most of it..The kids just took some of the moon lamps from the border of the garden and stuck it around the fort's perimeter. Kids are so creative..:(

The evergreen at the right side of the door became a giant ice cream cone!

The Queen of May ( springtime ) turned into a Diary Queen!

Another shot with no flash. Creating a magical world which could be seen ( and felt ) only at night, especially on a wintry night!

My friend Ros Balane from the Philippines wrote me in Pilipino:

"...sana ipinost mo na rin yung snow fort, di ko alam how it really looks like. ang nakikita lang kasi namin dito sa pinas sa mga christmas cards ay yung mga snowmen at snow balls, tsaka nung nasa elementary school pa tayo pare ko ay yung mga domes na snow ng mga eskimo sa Alaska !.."

You should have posted the SNOW FORT ..I do not know how it really looks like..What we see here in the Philippines in the Christmas cards are the snowmen and snowballs...and the snowdomes ( igloo ) of the eskimos in Alaska!

The top picture with this posting is the snowfort made by my grandkids ( from the last article ) ..Another snowfall covered it partly making it look less than a fort, more of a fence! But the other photos in this page show you the beauty ( and harshness ) of winter especially during the last few days here in Toronto.

The flash of the camera illuminated the falling snowflakes which looks round..But experts would tell you these are really hexagon crystals in different designs..It is another wonder of nature! No two crystals look alike, just like no two finger prints look the same!....
